What are technical skills and soft skills?

In today’s dynamic workplace, understanding what are technical skills and soft skills and the distinction between them is crucial for both individuals and organisations.

Technical skills, as the name suggests, are specific, teachable abilities related to a particular job or field. They are often acquired through formal education, training programs, or on-the-job experience. Think of a software engineer’s ability to code in Python, a graphic designer’s proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, or a surgeon’s expertise in performing intricate surgeries. On the other hand, soft skills, also known as interpersonal or human skills, are the intangible qualities and abilities that enable individuals to interact effectively with others.
